Frequently Asked Questions
How It Works?
SPRAVATO® is administered as a nasal spray in two doses, spaced about five minutes apart. During a two-hour observation period, your provider will monitor you closely. Before and after each session, we will monitor your blood pressure and pulse, as well as conduct brief mental health assessments to ensure your safety and track progress.
During the session, we recommend wearing an eye mask, listening to calming music, and using this time to relax and focus on your well-being.
If you have tried two or more standard treatments—such as therapy, antidepressants, TMS, or ketamine therapy—without lasting relief, SPRAVATO® may be a suitable option for you.
SPRAVATO® side effects are typically mild and short-lasting. You will be able to return home approximately two hours after treatment, but you must arrange for someone to drive you. Driving or operating heavy machinery is not advised until the following day after a full night’s rest.
While some insurance providers cover SPRAVATO®, coverage varies. We are committed to simplifying this process and advocating for our patients to ensure access to this life-changing treatment.
SPRAVATO® is FDA-approved for adults with treatment-resistant depression (TRD) or major depressive disorder (MDD) accompanied by suicidal thoughts or behaviors. A qualified medical professional must assess and diagnose your condition to determine eligibility.

The SPRAVATO® Treatment Process
The process begins with a psychiatric evaluation, fully covered by insurance, to determine if SPRAVATO® is right for you. This is especially relevant if you have treatment-resistant depression and haven’t found success with at least two prior treatments.
If SPRAVATO® is recommended, our team will explain the treatment process and safety measures, ensuring you’re fully informed.
During each session, our clinicians will guide you through using the SPRAVATO® nasal spray. After administration, you’ll rest under close monitoring for about two hours to ensure safety. Once cleared, you can return home.
