Meet Nick, a skilled and empathetic mental health counselor with a rich tapestry of life experiences that inform his unique and effective approach to therapy. Raised on a farm in N.W. Iowa, Nick’s journey has taken him through a variety of roles—labor, sales, driving, and office work—before finding his calling as a counselor. His diverse background, combined with his natural empathy and compassion, allows him to meet clients where they are and connect with them on a meaningful level.
Specializing in Neurodivergent and Trauma-Informed Care
Nick’s personal and professional experiences have shaped his passion for working with neurodivergent individuals and those dealing with trauma-related challenges. A late-diagnosed individual with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD, Nick has developed his own protocols to help others navigate life in a society often ill-equipped for neurodivergence. He now celebrates his own neurodiversity and uses his insights to guide others toward self-acceptance and joy.
Nick’s specialties include working with adults seeking to reduce or eliminate symptoms of:
Trauma, Anxiety, and Depression
Grief and PTSD
Neurodivergence (ASD, ADHD)
Co-Occurring Disorders and Addiction
Spiritual and Religious Issues
A Holistic and Eclectic Approach
Nick believes in a tailored approach to therapy, recognizing that each client’s journey is unique. He draws on a variety of therapeutic modalities, including:
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
Gestalt Therapy and Internal Family Systems
Mindfulness-Based and Holistic Concepts
At the heart of his work is Transpersonal Therapy, which focuses on self-awareness, managing fear, reducing self-judgment, and embracing self-love. Nick’s guiding motto is:
“Know Self, Accept Self, Love Self.”
